Sebastián Tortosa was born in Cordoba, Argentina, and started playing the piano at the tender age of three.
He first obtained the teaching diploma at the music academy of his home town. He then pursued further studies under Maria Ines Guimaraes in Paris, Edith Fischer in Barcelona, and Jorge Pepi at the music academy of La Chaux-de-Fonds, where he obtained the chamber music diploma. At the Musikhochschule Zürich he first graduated with the concert diploma, and finished his studies under Professor Homero Francesch in 2009 with the soloist diploma.
Sebastián Tortosa has won awards at numerous competitions, such as the „International de Mallorca", "Universitat de Barcelona", "International de Buenos Aires", or "Nacional de La Pampa" in Argentinien, to name but a few.
Invitations for concerts, radio, and television made the young pianist go to various countries in Europe and South America. Sebastián Tortosa also performed at numerous festivals, for instance in Germany, Italy, argentina, and France.
Since 2010 he has held a post for rehearsal and coaching at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste and has been organist at the Kirchgemeinde Schwerzenbach.
