Sabrina Frey, as a recorder player, is among today's outstanding artists of her generation. She was born in Switzerland, and she obtained her academic degree with distinction at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna, at the Musikhochschule Freiburg im Breisgau, and at the Musikhochschule Zürich.
As a soloist and chamber musician she has won awards made available for the first time at international competitions, and she has obtained numerous distinctions.
Sabrina Frey is a very active soloist and chamber musician both at home and abroad. She has performed with most notable musicians in the field of chamber music. As a recorder soloist she has played with members of some of Europe's leading baroque orchestras, amongst them the Zürcher Kammerorchester, and she has also worked with distinguished conductors. Her virtuoso and sensitive style of playing, her scenic splendour, and her natural elegance on the stage conjure up atmosphere, enthusing audiences and critics likewise.
2007 saw Sabrina Frey's first Cd release with the Novalis label, containing Telemann's twelve fantasias for solo recorder. In autumn 2009 her latest Cd was released by Berlin Classics.
